Meet Monkey Shoulder, the world’s first triple-malt Scotch. A labor of love by legendary Malt Master David Stewart, this cheeky blended whisky is actually a marriage of three of Speyside’s finest single malts.

For each batch, 27 casks are hand selected by malt masters David Stewart and Brian Kinsman. These precious liquids are then blended together in a marrying tun before maturing in first fill Bourbon casks. The resulting liquid is a smooth, rich, 100% malt Scotch whisky celebrated for its unique identity and wonderfully malleable tasting notes.

And while we can’t reveal the specifics of Monkey Shoulder’s recipe, we can promise that it’s a whisky rooted in authenticity yet blended for the next generation of drinkers.

Tasting Note

Nose: An elegant, stylish nose of marmalade, Crema Catalana (apologies, but it really is there), cocoa and malt. Plenty of vanilla and a sprinkling of winter spice (nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon) alongside a mouth-watering hint of aniseed.

Palate: Very malty, creamy delivery with a suggestion of berry fruit. Juicy toasted barley, cloves and butterscotch. Manuka honey, hot-buttered-toast and dried apricot develop.

Finish: Medium length, spicy oak and a hint of peppermint on the tail.

Overall: According to the Monkey Shoulder website: "Some say it tastes just like riding bareback on the wild moors of Scotland with a flame haired maiden on Christmas morning. Others agree it tastes like 007 wearing a tuxedo wetsuit." This is whisky to be enjoyed.

Copper Dog Speyside Blended Malt Scotch Whisky [1000ml]

A blended malt Scotch whisky named after a little piece of kit used once upon a time by distillery workers to covertly sneak spirit home... Eight different single malts from Speyside are combined by master blender Stuart Morrison to create this well-balanced whisky, which is designed to be well-suited for enjoying neat or in cocktails and mixed drinks.

Tasting Note

Nose: Peach, pear and dried apple. Classic Speysider honey'd cereal notes.

Palate: Chocolate digestives, nutty malt, orange peels and soft simmering spices.

Finish: Baked goods and honey-covered fruit.
