This is the first bottling in Glen Grant's Rothes Chronicles series, named after its home town in Speyside and released for the Travel Retail market. Cask Haven is a full-bodied single malt drawn from a selection of first-fill bourbon and sherry casks. A great balance of vanilla and spicy sherried fruit notes to be had here.
Tasting Note
Nose: Brandied cherries, creamy vanilla and cinnamon rolls.
Palate: Still big on the creamy vanilla notes, balanced by cassia, black pepper and ginger. Touches of lemon and lime appear later on.
Finish: Just a hint of beeswax lingers.
