Tanqueray Lovage is the latest limited edition from Tanqueray, created with Jason Crawley to be the perfect complement to modern cocktails. Just 100,000 bottles have been produced.

Tanqueray Lovage is a based on a recipe from the 1830s, created by Charles Tanqueray – they then partnered with renowned bartender and inventor Jason Crawley to bring back to life this historical gin, and give a glimpse in the ingenious mind of Charles Tanqueray himself.

 

Tasting Note
 
Nose: Herbal with celery salt and faintly earthiness along with reassuring piney juniper. Light liquorice and floral chamomile.
 
Palate: Juniper forward and beautifully balanced with herbal notes either side of the tongue. Well integrated flavours.
 
Finish: More herbal in the finish with delicate spice, long lingering liquorice and celery salt.
 
Overall: First and foremost, this is a classic London dry, juniper forward gin. The “Lovage” name is perhaps deceptive as it suggests this is a one-dimensional flavoured gin. It’s far from that with lovage well integrated with the other botanicals. An interesting limited edition with which to experiment.
