Drambuie is a whisky liqueur. Its origins can be traced to a secret recipe created for Bonnie Prince Charlie by his Royal Apothecary in the 18th Century. "Drambuie" translates to "the drink that satisfies" in Gaelic so send this scotch whiskey liqueur to make your recipients smile. This secret elixir is crafted using heather honey herbs spices and blended scotch whiskies. Saffron and cloves are rumoured to be the other secret ingredients. Aromas of citrus spice greet the nose. Notes of tangy lemongrass and warm malty notes from the blended whiskey permeate the soft velvety palate. Berries and heather notes are followed by a shortbread and fresh herb finish. Serve Drambuie Liqueur neat on the rocks or in the classic cocktail the Rusty Nail. Drambuie is clear to medium brown in colour It has an aroma of complex herbal aromatics with a hint of wood. It is not too sweet with herbal and fine old matured wood flavours. It has a lovely long lasting finish.

Tasting Note

Nose: Aromatic and herbaceous with a mix of fragrant honey, spicy botanicals, and distinct Speyside and Highland Scotch whisky notes.

Palate: Rich, syrupy, and velvety. Opens with the sweetness of heather honey and vanilla, which is quickly balanced by clove, saffron, anise, and a zesty, bitter orange bite. The underlying malt and oak from the Scotch provide a warming baseline.

Finish: Long, smooth, and gently warming. The honey and herbal spice linger harmoniously alongside a subtle, malted whisky aftertaste.
